NLPA Welcomes Inaugural Chief Diversity Officer

NLPA welcomes Dra. Julia Roncoroni as our inaugural Chief Diversity Officer. Dr. Roncoroni will lead NLPA’s efforts to ensure the organization remains responsive to the diversity of our Latine identities and experiences. 

Dr. Roncoroni is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has lived in the United States since 2007 and is an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology at the University of Denver. Currently serving as the Faculty Vice President for DEI on the Faculty Executive Committee. Her research centers around customized, culturally sensitive health care and health promotion, specifically aiming to address the needs of Black and Brown communities. Additionally, she is affiliate faculty at university’s Latinx Center and the Interdisciplinary Research Institute for the Study of Inequality. In her time in the U.S. she has transformed the barriers she encountered as an immigrant into initiatives for community advancement in her research, teaching, and service.
